Add a Virtual Background on Microsoft Teams
Set up your Krutna virtual background in Microsoft Teams before joining your next video call.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have already created your Krutna virtual background and saved the image file to your device. If you haven’t done this yet, check out our guide on How to Create a Krutna Virtual Background before continuing.
Adding Your Virtual Background to Microsoft Teams
- Log in to the Microsoft Teams web app.
- Start or join a video call.
- Before entering the meeting, click Background Filters beneath the video preview window.
- Under Background Settings, click Add New.
- Select and upload your Krutna virtual background file from your device.
Your background will be applied and visible to all other participants on the call.
Important Note for Windows 11 Users
Some newer versions of Microsoft Teams that come pre-installed on Windows 11 do not support uploading custom virtual background images. If you find that this option is unavailable in your version of Teams, try one of the following:
- Switch to the Microsoft Teams version designed for work or school
- Download the Microsoft Teams app directly from the Microsoft website
Reminder: Microsoft Teams applies a mirroring effect, so your background may appear reversed to you. This is completely normal — all other participants on the call will see it correctly.
If you continue to experience issues adding your virtual background to Microsoft Teams, our support team is happy to help.
